Background and Education
Geoffrey F. Velpel, DDS was born in Garrett, Indiana in 1958. He graduated from Snider High School in 1976, then from IU Dental School in 1984. After graduating from dental school, he worked for 9 years practicing dentistry at the Indian Health Services in Montana and Alaska. He has two great daughters, Kelsi and Erin.
Some of Dr. Velpel's personal interests include his church, family fun, and participation in many sports and games. He enjoys the outdoors, with fishing and wildlife watching being a favorite pastime.
Dr. Velpel is a long-standing member of the American Dental Association, The Isaac Knapp District Dental Society, both the Indiana and the Chicago Dental Societies, and a member of Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation.
He is passionate about creating beautiful, functional smiles, and because of that, he stays on the leading edge of dentistry using advanced dental technology which also includes using new materials and procedures as they are perfected.
With great pride he exceeds the requirements needed for continuing education on a yearly basis. His goal is to provide beautiful, painless dentistry in a relaxed caring atmosphere.
